One of the very first products we made in 1996, our Frankincense Cream was created because we knew just how fantastic Frankincense was for the skin. From the start, it was a popular seller, with customers loving its deeply nourishing formula.
Then in 1998, everything changed. Journalist Susan Clarke wrote about it, and suddenly, demand exploded! But this was before websites and viral internet sales—back then, it was our answerphone flashing non-stop. Walking into the office to see it blinking wasn’t unusual, but this time, the phone wouldn’t stop ringing! Picking up all the orders became a challenge because our single phone line couldn’t keep up.
Orders even reached the Prime Minister’s wife and her friends, and this cream became our first-ever viral product—before going viral was even a thing! It was so popular that we had to take on an extra unit just for packing orders, marking a turning point in our journey.
