🌿 The Language of Flowers: A Touch of Nature’s Magic in Every Product 🌸

At Herbs on the Hill, we believe in nature’s beauty, not just in the ingredients we use, but in the little details that make each product special. That’s why we harvest, dry, and press our own flowers, adding a delicate, hand-placed touch to our bath melts, soaps, and gift sets. Sometimes, you’ll find them tied around a bottle, tucked into a gift box, or pressed onto a bath melt—bringing a little piece of nature’s artistry to your everyday rituals.

Each flower, petal, and stem is unique, because nature never repeats itself. No two are ever the same, making every piece a one-of-a-kind treasure. 🌿✨

But did you know that flowers have their own secret language? Long before text messages and emojis, people used flowers to send hidden messages of love, gratitude, and remembrance. This tradition, known as floriography, dates back centuries and gives each bloom its own symbolic meaning.

🌸 The Language of Flowers: What Do They Mean?

Each flower we use isn’t just beautiful—it carries a story and meaning:

🌿 Pansy – A symbol of thoughtfulness and remembrance. A flower that says, "I’m thinking of you."

🌹 Rose – The classic symbol of love and beauty. Red roses represent deep love, while pink roses symbolize admiration and gratitude.

💜 Lavender – A flower of calm, peace, and devotion. Used for centuries to promote relaxation and serenity.

🌼 Calendula – A symbol of warmth, joy, and protection. This golden flower is often associated with healing and happiness.

💙 Forget-Me-Not – True love, cherished memories, and deep connections. A little bloom to honor those we hold dear.

Every time we add a pressed petal or dried bloom to a product, we’re also adding a hidden message—a whisper of nature’s magic, waiting to be discovered.

🌿 How We Use Dried & Pressed Flowers in Our Products

Our love for flowers goes beyond their meanings—we also handpick and preserve them to create stunning, nature-infused details. Here’s how we use them:

🌸 Bath Melts – Topped with delicate pressed flowers for a luxurious bath experience.

🍃 Soaps – Scattered with dried petals for a beautifully rustic, botanical finish.

🎁 Gift Sets & Bottles – Sometimes, we tie dried flowers around bottle necks or nestle them inside gift boxes, creating an extra-special touch.

Every product is a work of art, crafted with nature’s finest details. No two are ever the same—just as nature intended. 💚

🌸 How to Dry & Press Your Own Flowers

Want to try preserving flowers at home? Drying and pressing flowers is simple, fun, and a beautiful way to keep nature’s magic alive.

🌿 How to Dry Flowers Naturally

1️⃣ Air Drying (Best for Whole Flowers)

  • Gather flowers into small bunches and tie them with twine.
  • Hang them upside down in a dry, dark place (like an airing cupboard).
  • Wait two to three weeks until they are completely dry and crisp.

2️⃣ Oven Drying (For Faster Results)

  • Lay flowers on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.
  • Set your oven to low heat (around 80°C / 175°F).
  • Leave the door slightly open and check every 10-15 minutes.

🌸 How to Press Flowers

1️⃣ Traditional Book Pressing

  • Place flowers between two sheets of absorbent paper (blotting paper works best).
  • Put them inside a heavy book and stack more books on top.
  • Leave for two to four weeks until completely flat and dry.

2️⃣ Quick Microwave Pressing

  • Place flowers between two sheets of kitchen paper.
  • Sandwich them inside two ceramic tiles or between two microwave-safe plates.
  • Microwave in 10-second bursts, checking after each round.
  • In just a minute or two, you’ll have beautifully pressed flowers!
